When Life Presents Me With Stillness: Focus

There is a mantra I give myself in times of extended stillness when the anxiety sets in from being still for much too long. It's kind of an extended mantra depending on the kind of stillness I'm experience. The anxiety, I believe, comes from the conditioning of the hustle and bustle of societal norms. The constant feeling of needing to be productive even though there is no reason to be. The Idea that rest is equivalent to laziness, and overworking is worn as a badge of honor. I'm currently experiencing a time of stillness- a time of renovation and innovation, but very much a rest period. Some days I experience the same anxiety, thinking I should post more social media content or start one of the new projects on my 2026 rollout for Happy Plantz. This is what I wrote in my journal to myself today as a reminder to stay present. I hope it gives you the helpful pause you need the next time your feeling like you need to be more productive than necessary.
Pause. Focus. Be Present
Don't be afraid to be still. I know that it is easy to get anxious in the space of stillness. Life will present you with many stages of this. It is important to stay focused, but it is most important to stay present- focusing only on what you can control in this moment. Focus on the present even when working on your goals. Every goal presents a process with a series of steps and actions to perform in order to achieve said goal. It is important you focus on the present step- not looking too far ahead. This will create a different kind of anxiety. You are not running out of what they call "time", you just need to take YOUR time. Focus even if its a season of rest. Focus on that rest... do not focus on what may come or what may need to be done after taking said rest. Just....rest. Be present in your body, be aware of your body, and listen to your body. Focus. Be Present.
